Welcome to fifth grade! My name is Ms.Grajeda! I have been a teacher at St.Felicitas since 2017. I received my degree from the University of San Francisco in 2015, then went on to receive my Masters and Credential in May of 2018. I truly believe that teaching is my calling and am so grateful to have found a place at St.Felicitas. I feel particularly connected to St.Felicitas because many of my close family members have worked at and attended this school.
As far as my teaching philosophy, I find that if you set high expectations for students, they will rise to meet them. Fifth grade is a transition year, so my goal is to help students grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally as they prepare for middle school. I push the students to persevere through difficult problems, take risks and make mistakes, and become independent learners. In order for this to be possible, the students must feel safe and comfortable in the classroom. For this reason, I spend the first part of the year building classroom community to ensure that the students feel supported. Additionally, I use a variety of teaching methods to keep students engaged and motivated as they learn. I look forward to seeing my students thrive!
